Teacher training on preventing exclusionary language in Guinea
An increase in exclusionary language and behavior among Guinean school students in the areas of politics, religion and ethnicity has made it necessary to strengthen the capacity of teachers to respond to this phenomenon.
Quale designed training modules for primary and secondary school teachers and then trained trainers from the Ministry of Education on this subject. 2,500 teachers in the Conakry conurbation were trained on identifying exclusionary language and behavior in the classroom, as well as in developing alternative ways of talking and acting (with the involvement of the students themselves).
